We took a break to celebrate a birthday here, it was fantastic! The food was delicious, the staff were incredibly welcoming, and the atmosphere was just perfect.
Hubby and I finally got a date night and decided we were going to head over to Chipotle. I however did not feel like the same old chain food so I suggested we try Barcenas. WOW! What a wholesome delicious decision! From the second we walked in the entire staff greeted us and any staff we walked passed greeted us. The service was phenomenal. The Margaritas were ice cold and packed the perfect punch, our food was served hot and fresh, the homemade tres leches cake was far beyond my expectations. We could not have made a better choice going here instead of another chair restaurant. I would also like to add we did not have our children with us this time but I will definitely be bringing them with us the next time. I’ve never seen a staff be so kind to children in a restaurant. Went for dinner/ happy hour and everything was good. The drinks were good, the mix was a little sweet for my taste but still enjoyable especially with my grand Marnier floater on top. The bartender was very helpful and friendly... I had chicken fajitas and had plenty to bring home. The tortillas were homemade ( I love authentic tortillas, and I'm super picky about them), the chicken was flavorful, and the grilled onions added a good touch...My mom had the enchiladas trio. She wasn't impressed with the shredded chicken enchilada, but loved the other ones... Also, the salsa, both red and green were very flavorful (I'm a stickler for good salsa)...
The food is delicious and the staff are awesome.. They will even come out and sing happy birthday to those on their special day. I highly recommend you give them a try ...
We have been coming here since 2001 and went back yesterday. As delicious as always. Everything is homemade, the salsas are a testament to years of experience. We had breakfast and couldn’t finish it all. The refried beans were full of flavor and the potato’s well done per our request. Fresh ice tea. Manager/owners sitting right up front. Family owned and the pride they take in their food and service shows!
Unassuming GEM! Food was DELICIOUS! The beef fajitas meal in particular! Great, friendly service; everyone from the hostess, server, staff, owner, just an all-around pleasant experience!
We love Barcenas! We come almost every Friday for dinner. The Fajita Poblano is always amazing, and the Tacos al Pastor are packed with flavor. The margaritas are delicious too—especially after a long week! Great food, great service, and a great atmosphere. This is definitely at the top of the list of Mexican restaurants in the Clear Lake area. Stop in anytime you’re around. Check out their other locations too, a new one just opened by South Shore.
When we walked in, the staff greeted us and seated us immediately. This is the best service I have ever received. The server was quick, polite, and knowledgeable. The watermelon margarita and carne guisada plate tasted great. I accidentally left my to-go box on the table, and one of the staff members ran out as I got in my car to give it to me. The staff is so sweet and attentive. We will definitely be returning!
